It was the threshold between day and night. The moon shone far up in the sky, a thin crescent of light. I looked down on the grass and saw three soft spots of light take off from the grass and quickly fade out. I didn’t notice what was going on around me; the view was mesmerizing. I held Eric’s hand and we stood still, our eyes fixed.
I didn’t want to go, but didn’t want to get beaten either. So, I asked Eric to push me inside. Eric did, and then helped me through all the nightly routine steps. I started meditating. Soon I was falling asleep, the lights still flickering in my mind.
